what a mess. Time for the city manager to go. Let’s see. We have law suits and threats of law suits. A chief and Lt. that can’t do the job, and what I’ve read have not been doing the job for years. The city manager and his buddies should have been done some time ago.
It is time to terminate the city manager. Then the new interim city manager can retire or fire the chief and Lt. What’s that you say “they might file suit?”
It is time to stop being held hostage by the incompetent making threats. Let them go and go now.
Tuesday night is coming and its time for the city council to take action to straighten out the good old boys and pus pocket police administration.

As of this writing on Sunday Morning one of the stories about the corruption and pus in the Orange City Police Department have been sent to the Archive section. You can find by search. Smells like a lawyer hating freedom of speech. The two articles have hundreds of comments by citizens and some are very enlightening. Go to the archive section and search for “embattled cop” or “Orange City cop”

mistreatment of a wide variety can be investigated by this organization. What if 20 officers filed about what is and has happened to them?
Now that would be an investigation to see the results of?

The continuing problems in the Orange City Police department are not being made better by the city manager and the chief of police. The five new police cars have been put away to punish officers for complaining. The city manager is issuing threats of firing officers.
The city manager and chief of police have failed to see that the problem is their lack of action in addressing abusive behavior by a police administrator. They want the problem to be the complaining officers when the problem is in fact themselves for not addressing the abuse and now engaging in abuse themselves.
The abuse problems did not happen over night or even over one year, but have been going on for at least two years and possibly longer.
The investigation that is underway should be focused. what did the city manager and chief know and when did they know it? What did the police administrator do that was abusive and for how long has he been doing it? When the officers sent anonymous letters to the mayor in 2008, why did the mangers and the police chief not act on the matters that were turned over to them as the charter provides? Has adult beverages fueled the problem for the city manager and the police chief? There are a lot more questions which hopefully the new investigator will ask.
There is one last question. Is it time for the city manager and the police chief to resign? Is their threatening and punishing action toward officers the one true sign it is time for them to go, and go quickly. It is unfortunate they are in the way of healing.

It has been reported to me that the city manager has taken the recent complaint by police officers personally. He is making life difficult for the officers with new hoops, rules and other alienating actions.
Ranting to all who will listen that he is going to show them. Well, maybe his job is to show the people he can do his job. For years he knew this problem existed and for at least the last year when he could have done something, he has done nothing. No wonder they went to the press, the people, the elected council members and anyone who will listen. Take your fingers out of your ears, Mr. city manager, and help our officers.
