Democrat Faye Armitage lives in St. Johns County. She has five children, including one son currently servicing in the U.S. Armed Forces in Iraq, and two grandchildren.
She is making her first run for public office.
A former professor of economics at Valencia College in Orlando, Armitage is the founder of Cure Paralysis Now, and serves on the board of directors of Stem Cell Action Network and Hope4Stroke.
She has been a longtime activist for patient safety, stem-cell research, universal health care, and a responsible end to the Iraq War. Stories about her activism have appeared in the Wall Street Journal and The Orlando Sentinel.
Armitage is a member of the Democratic Executive Committee of St. Johns County.
