There is as much opportunity for a person to become a homeowner as there was five years ago.

A nationalized health-care system should be available to all U.S. residents.
1— Comment: I do not support a socialized health care system. However, I have introduced a bill that offers healthcare coverage for low-income American children. We cannot play political games over something as important as healthcare for children who need it most. I also support an increase in affordable and accessible options for every American through a variety of providers and other options such as HSAs. The answer must revolve around solutions that are affordable and accessible, individual plans for consumers that they can take with them when they move (not just options that are tied to employment), and tax credits to help individuals purchase the health insurance of their choice. I believe we need increased health care options are accessible and affordable.
Congress should support, without qualification, the right of citizens to keep and bear arms.
5 — Comment: The Second Amendment ensures that the right of citizens to keep and bear arms will not be abridged by Congress. I support and respect the limits provided to Congress by our founding fathers through the Constitution. Since the framers of the Constitution did not make qualifications to the right to keep and bear arms, Congress should not have the liberty to infringe upon that right absent constitutional amendment.
The U.S. is safer than it was before 9/11.
4 — Comment: America is safer because we have taken the fight to terrorists instead of trying to wish away the real and present danger they pose. Terrorism remains a threat to American lives and liberty. So we must remain vigilant and confront those seeking to harm us.
Diplomacy is always the preferable strategy in dealing with international conflict.
3 — Comment: In pursuing American foreign policy, a statesman judiciously uses the tools in his toolbox – diplomacy, the creation and maintenance of formal and informal alliances, the use of military power to deter or, if necessary, fight threats to American liberty, and the development of cultural and commercial ties. Like a skilled craftsman, one assesses the particular situation and then selects the set of tools that best serve American interests. Diplomacy is invaluable but is not the sole instrument to use.
Accomplishment of which you are most proud: I led the fight for the Central Florida VA Hospital — a top priority of mine since I was elected to Congress. I fought and secured federal funds for this critical hospital to bring the resources to service this ever growing population to Central Florida . After 40 years, the groundbreaking on the VA hospital is set for October 24th. Because of my support of Veterans I have been endorsed by the VFW PAC.
Public-service goal you have yet to achieve: I will continue to fight to stop illegal immigration, wasteful earmarks and wasteful government spending. It is also a top priority of mine to achieve energy independence for America--energy produced by Americans to save American jobs and families--and not by countries led by anti-American dictators.
