The County Council should meet at least some of the time in the evening, to allow better citizen access to meetings.
5 — Comment: County Council meetings usually run into the evenings but issues of high community concern should be strategically placed near the end to allow for more citizen participation.
Conservation should be enforced before Volusia County spends money on alternate water resources.
1 — Comment: To prevent a price increase similar to gasoline, we must explore alternative water resources while promoting conservation.
With its current tax rate, the County Council has denied residents the benefit of Amendment 1.
3 — Comment: Technically they did not deny residents the benefit of Amendment 1, but I would have voted similar to Carl Persis to reduce the tax rate.
Accomplishment of which you are most proud: Earning my Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Florida.
Public-service goal you have yet to achieve: Instill trust as an elected official. I will be a true representative of the people. I will be accessible, responsive, and accountable. Upon election, I will make an oath to always have the best interests of the community in mind when making decisions. I plan to conduct "town hall" meetings to consult and understand the issues of District 2. People need to feel confident that their county representative shares in their concerns and has a genuine interest in their views.
