Back in 1983, I moved to a big corporate job in Ft. Lauderdale and knew no one. I went to the UU church looking for new friends and Mary adopted me. She became my friend, surrogate mother, cheerleader and inspiration. And has continued to be - and will continue to be, for her spirit lives on in all of us whom she "friended" in her Mary way. Lucky us!
