DELTONA — The visiting Daytona Beach Seabreeze SandCrabs tallied 23 points in the opening period here Friday, and then doubled up on the hosting Deltona Wolves for a 40-20 victory.
The win boosted the SandCrabs to 4-3 on the year, and left the Wolves at 2-4, as they prepare for a Friday-night visit at 7 o'clock in Spec Martin Memorial Stadium to tangle with the undefeated DeLand Bulldogs (7-0) in the annual Battle of the Bone.
Seabreeze scored in every quarter, while the Wolves broke loose for their 20 points in the second half.
Junior Josh Dagley scored twice for the Wolves, as he rambled 66 yards for one score and 4 for the other. Junior Donald Matthews hauled in a 55-yard scoring pass from junior quarterback Anthony Angley for the other 6-pointer. Senior Ben Naboa booted 2 extra points.
Seabreeze quarterback Matt Thompson had another solid game, hitting 14 of his 20 passes for 204 yards, and a touchdown. Dagley totaled 97 yards with eight carries, and Cody Appleby added 50 yards with nine attempts.
