A couple of Atlantic Sun Conference volleyball teams from the River City notched victories here over the weekend against the hosting Stetson University Hatters.
Friday, the Jacksonville University Dolphins (10-2 in the A-Sun and 14-5) took a 25-16, 25-13 and 25-18 decision over the Hats (0-12 and 1-18). In the loss, Stephanie Canfield had nine kills, Anna Becker posted 13 digs, and Megan Stewart was credited with 12 assists. Team leader Kelli Carneal missed the action.
Saturday, the Hats played tough in the first game against the University of North Florida Ospreys (4-9 and 9-13) before bowing 27-25, 25-13 and 25-19. Carneal picked up 18 assists and nine digs in this one. Laura Boyd added eight kills, Becker had eight digs, and Sam Freeman posted four blocked shots.
This weekend, the Hats will be in Nashville, Tenn., for A-Sun action against Belmont on Friday, and Lipscomb on Saturday.
