It was another one of these "so-so weeks" for Col. Eromlig, as he went 18-8, but nailed five of the six West Volusia teams, missing only the Deltona Trinity Christian Eagles victory.
This pushed the season guessing mark to 186-67, with two regular-season games remaining for most of the schools, and then into the playoffs for the various district champions and runners-up.
Here we go with our series of guesses:
The major showdown for District 2-6A honors goes on the line Friday night at 7 o'clock in the Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium, when the Mainland Bucs (6-2) host the undefeated DeLand Bulldogs (9-0). This could well be a barn-burner, with the nod going to the ’Dogs, 31-17.
The Taylor Wildcats will be on the road to face the Atlantic Sharks at 7 p.m. Friday, with the hosts having a little too much depth, 27-13.
The Deltona Wolves will be at home for the final time this season, when they entertain the Spruce Creek Hawks at 7 p.m., following last week's thriller against the Mainland Bucs in the tough 21-12 loss. The Wolves get the nod, 22-20.
Also at home for the final time in the 2009 season will be the Pine Ridge Panthers hosting the Paul J. Hagerty gridders, who look to be a 28-14 victor.
Closing out their regular season on the road Friday at the Southwest Florida Christian Academy will be the Deltona Trinity Christian Eagles, who look to bring home a 33-13 victory.
Lighthouse Christian will be at Ormond Beach Calvary Christian at 7 p.m. Friday, seeking to follow up on their first win of the season last week with a free-scoring 44-39 win.
