Strong start -- The 'Dogs were in the house. And, they were fighting to get playoffs taken to thier house at Spec Martin Stadium. DeLand High School burst onto the field with dreams of a perfect 10-0 season, and home-field advantage during the quarter-final playoffs.

First to arrive -- Travis Jones, Ivan Ervin, Kimber Singleton and Hanna Ervin arrive two hours before each and every DeLand High School football game. The dedicated fans had high hopes for victory at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium, where the Mainland Buccaneers and the DeLand Bulldogs faced off Nov. 6.

The showdown for District 2-6A honors went to Mainland High School, as they took down the Bulldogs 21-14. It was the Bulldogs' first loss this season.
Both teams went into the game 3-0 in the district. This win determined home-field advantage during the regional quarterfinals. Mainland will have the home advantage, while DeLand will be on the road.
