The Sheriff's Air 1 helicopter transported a man to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach Wednesday afternoon after what DeLand Police termed a hit-and-run accident between a pickup truck and a motorcycle.
DeLand Police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck involved in the accident, Sgt. John Anderson said. The motorcycle driver was transported to Halifax Medical Center in DeLand with a broken leg.
Church Street and other nearby streets in Downtown DeLand were shut down for a time as DeLand Police and EVAC responded to the scene, and the helicopter sat down on a nearby patch of grass.
Anderson said he could not release any names at this time.
