The Bulldog Wrestling Club will return to the mats Monday, March 11, under the direction of head coach Lonny Reid in the old gym at DeLand High School.
The club meets 6-7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. It is co-sponsored by the City of DeLand Parks and Recreation Department, and is open to wrestlers in middle school and high school. It is affiliated with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). Wrestlers must have a current AAU card to participate. Go to www.aausports.org to apply for the card.
No experience is necessary. Coaches will train the basics and move on to higher skills as appropriate. Club membership costs $25. Membership means twice-weekly supervised practices, coaching at AAU "folk style" wrestling tournaments in the spring, summer and fall, and a team T-shirt.
For additional information, contact coach Reid at 407-929-2892 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
