The Volusia County Council's "team-building retreat" originally set for Friday morning, March 8, at the Volusia County Lifeguard Headquarters and Administration Center in Daytona Beach has been rescheduled to 9 a.m. Thursday, March 28, in the first-floor training room of the Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center at 123 W. Indiana Ave. in DeLand, giving council members more time to talk.
Still scheduled for 2-5 p.m. Friday, March 8, in Ballroom A in the Ocean Center, 101 N. Atlantic Ave., is a public workshop on the $100,000 tourism study.
"The public is invited to the workshop, and pubic participation is welcomed," the press release from the county manager's office states.
The tourism report, presented in January, was the subject of considerable criticism by West Volusia residents, who said it left out any true consideration of the west side of Volusia County.
