Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Gamma Mu Omega Chapter, announces male cook-off winners

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Gamma Mu Omega Chapter, is proud to announce the winners of its inaugural Male Cook-off held March 24 at the Daytona Beach Resort & Conference Center.
Winners were awarded in the following categories:
1st Place - Arthur Wesley Wright; 2nd Place - Anthony Kenner; 3rd Place - Jermaine McKinney
1st Place - Greg Dew; 2nd Place - Wallace Lowery; 3rd Place - Robert Jones
1st Place - Ferrin Harris; 2nd Place - Kenrick Flowers; 3rd Place - James Daniels
1st Place - Wallace Lowery and David Howard (tie); 2nd Place - Ray Willis; 3rd Place - Patrick Bartee
The cook-off’s 20 participants included Kenner Anthony, Patrick Bartee, Terence Culver, James Daniels, Gregory Dew, John Dixon, Kenrick Flowers, Arthur Green, Ferren Harris, David Howard, Robert Jones, Wallace Lowery, Kelvin Mayner, Jermaine McKinney, Larry Stoney, Herbert Thomas, Lavon Thomas, Kenneth Walker, Ray Willis and Arthur Wright.
Nathaniel Anthony, Vince Carter's Restaurant; Dr. Graham Bowcher, Bethune-Cookman University; and Chef Robert McGrath, Daytona Beach Resort & Conference Center served as judges.
Presented in conjunction with the United Negro College Fund, the Inaugural Male Cook-Off offered an opportunity for men of the community – hobbyist and professional – to showcase their culinary talents. Proceeds from the event will go towards scholarships for Volusia County students who desire to attend college. The scholarships will be presented jointly by Gamma Mu Omega and UNCF.
Event sponsors included VITAS Innovative Hospice Care and Daytona Beach City Commissioner Patrick Henry.
