A familiar and trusted local family name is returning to retail.
After a 15-year career in the financial services industry, Wes Dunn returns to the business he grew up in with the groundbreaking of Dunn’s Attic & Auction House, 136 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach, on April 18. The groundbreaking event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“Dunn’s Attic & Auction House will be a great addition to Ormond Beach’s burgeoning art scene,” explains owner Wes Dunn. “Residents and visitors alike will find a fantastic selection of items ready for purchase, including unique pieces of art, antiques and more,” Dunn adds.
Slated to open in July 2013, Dunn’s Attic & Auction House will be the area’s only consignment store, artist co-op and auction house. The 12,000-square-foot facility will offer a buying and selling experience like no other in Central Florida.
“Our consignment showroom will have a unique blend of home décor, furniture, giftware, antiques, collectibles and vintage items. The 14-foot ceilings will allow for many small vignettes throughout the store that will create excitement surrounding certain themes,” Dunn explains.
In addition, the artist co-op will allow local artists to showcase their works and participate in monthly events to help promote and sell them. The auction house will present a full schedule of events including a monthly showcase auction that will be fully cataloged and streamed live on the internet. A bonus for local organizations seeking event space, the auction house will be available for special events and fundraisers.
Television personality Tim Luke is a partner in Dunn’s Attic & Auction House. Luke will oversee appraisal services; direct the auction business and serve as the head auctioneer. President and co-owner of TreasureQuest Appraisal Group, Inc., Luke has an extensive background in the antique and collectibles field. Prior to becoming an independent consultant, he worked at Christie’s auction house in New York City as the director of the Collectibles Department. He has appeared as a featured appraiser on HGTV’s Cash in the Attic and Antiques Roadshow on PBS. He has also appeared as an expert appraiser on the Today Show, The View, Oprah, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, CNN and Lifetime Television. In Florida, he has appeared on WPTV-5 – the NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach – and in a weekly segment, “What’s It Worth Wednesday,” on West Palm Beach’s WFLX Fox 29 which airs during the morning news.
To RSVP for the groundbreaking event, RSVP to Wes@DunnsAttic.com by April 12.
