A year after its 1950s-style drive-ins in DeLand and Orange City abruptly closed, SONIC says it still plans to renovate and reopen the businesses.
Known for roller-skating carhops and the sounds of old rock 'n' roll playing for the patrons' listening pleasure, SONIC's now-dormant restaurants await promised makeovers and the return of customers hungry for all-American fast food.
SONIC spokeswoman Madison LaRoche says the eateries will be made ready for business once again.
