Things were smoking at Cafe da Vinci in Downtown DeLand Tuesday morning, so much so that traffic slowed on West Georgia Avenue.
Motorists checked out the action, bystanders gathered to watch, and a DeLand police officer even pulled up to make sure things were under control.
Ten men and two women with Volusia County Professional Firefighters Association Local 3574 were just taking off their shirts for charity (the women kept on bikini tops).
Paul Pulitano, a firefighter for nine years, said the union is putting together a calendar featuring the partially clad first-responders to raise money.
