Two summer camps announced for women's soccer
posted May 29, 2013 - 5:34:29pm
The Stetson women's soccer program and head coach Manoj Khettry are excited to announce a pair of camps to be held this summer. The Hatters will host a Prospect ID Camp June 16 and a Residential Camp July 18-21, both being held at the brand-new Athletic Training Center.
The Prospect ID Camp is for players ages 13-19 looking to become Stetson Hatters or to continue their development as players. The ID Camp will expose players to the standards and style of coaching, as well as expectations of players at Stetson. It is intended for players with a high level of interest in playing at the NCAA Division I level and Stetson University.
"I think the Prospect ID camps are a great way for prospects to get a flavor for how we train at Stetson, what our expectations are for players, and ultimately a sense of what our style of soccer will be and how our coaching staff operates," Khettry said. "It's also a great way for them to learn more about the college recruitment process."
The Residential Camp will be geared to presenting a college training environment for the aspiring player. There will be nightly talks on strength and conditioning and nutrition, as well as a college-search seminar. Each camper will also receive a camp T-shirt.
"In my opinion, there is no better way to know what it is like to be a 'Hatter' than by staying in our dorms, eating in our dining hall, and training two to three times a day on our fields led by our coaching staff," Khettry said.
