Florida Collegiate Summer League kicks off this week

Baseball 2013 for the Florida Collegiate Summer League have six teams ready to go, now through the first week in August.
Joining the defending-champion DeLand Suns are five other area teams. This is the fifth season for the Suns, with their home games played on Melching Field at Conrad Park, with most games scheduled for 7 p.m. Some Sunday games will be played at 5 p.m., with others at 1 p.m.
For fans who follow the Suns on the road, their opponents and the stadium in which they play include the College Park Freedom, Orlando Bishop Moore High School; Leesburg Lightning, Pat Thomas Stadium; Orlando Monarchs, Tinker Field; Sanford River Rats, Sanford Memorial Stadium; and Winter Park Diamond Dawgs, Alfond Stadium.
Rick Hall is head coach of the Suns, with Neil Wilson the general manager. The phone number for the team is 321-206-9174.
Most team members have announced their roster plans; however, there are some players who have yet to report. From time to time during the season, there are changes.
Here's a rundown of the Suns' roster as of this writing, by position, hometown and school attended in 2012-13.

The Suns will open on the road at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Sanford.
