As Americans everywhere mark the 237th birthday of the United States next week, The West Volusia Beacon wishes readers a safe and happy Fourth.
Banks, U.S. financial markets, post offices, schools, Volusia County courts and public libraries, and most local, state and federal offices will be closed Thursday.
Some are taking additional holidays. Public libraries will be closed July 3-5, while the court system will take July 4 and 5 off.
A number of cities and towns in West Volusia will stage fireworks displays as part of their celebration of the nation's independence. Orange City is planning an early start, with festivities on June 29.
