Florida Collegiate Summer League hosts All-Star Game July 9

With the 2013 Florida Collegiate Summer League about at the midway point, it is time for the All-Star Game.
The big event is set for Tuesday, July 9, in the Sanford Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m., but get there early to see the Home Run Derby at 6 p.m.

The DeLand Suns, Leesburg Lightning, and Sanford River Rats will represent the North All-Stars, while the South All-Stars will be loaded with players from Orlando, Winter Park and College Park.
The Suns will have outfielder Alex Stephens, West Virginia University, as one of the starters for the North All-Stars. Six members of the Leesburg Lightning will open the game, headed by pitcher Cory Taylor and catcher Erik Hindman, along with infielders Justin Fox and Colby Lusignan, plus outfielders Brett Jones and Tyler Neslony.
Sanford River Rat infielder Tyler Palmer and outfielder Rock Rucker will complete the North starters.
Four DeLand pitchers are on the reserve list: Eric Bauer, College of Central Florida; Chris Fee, Pasco Hernando Community College; Neal Hunter, Thomas University; and David Lidyard, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Two River Rat hurlers are on the list and have local ties: Kenneth Burkhead, Deltona, Florida State University; and John Sever, Orange City, Daytona State College.
Suns outfielder Kevin Lindheim is on the reserve list with players from Sanford, Leesburg and DeLand: Grant Wruble, Andres Nelo, Tyler Kellmann, Christian Dicks, Connor Marabell, Dylan Hathcock, and Matt Dearden.
Four Orlando Monarchs headline the South All-Stars and are joined by three Winter Park Diamond Dawgs and College Park Freedom as starters for the Tuesday, July 9, action.
Emilio Ogando, Winter Park, St. Thomas University, will open on the mound for the South, while Darryl Knight, Orlando, Seminole State College, will be behind the plate.
The infield looks to have Hunter Bruehl, College Park, St. Johns River State College; Blake Prince, Orlando, Wingate University; Taylor Perez, College Park, St. Leo College; and Einar Muniz, Orlando, Alabama State University.
On the reserve list for the South are catcher Jared Watson; infielders Orlando Rivera and Sean Trent; outfielders Sly Edwards and Tanner Stanley; and pitchers Ben Ancheff, Mitchell Dolan, Jeff Rousseau, C.J. Kelly, Cam Tewksbury, Alex Deise, Josh Glick and Evan Incinelli.
Home Run Derby
Each division will have six players in the Home Run Derby. For the North, it will be Esteban Puerta, Leesburg; Lusignan, Leesburg; Palmer, Sanford; Rucker, Sanford; Christian Magno, DeLand; and a sixth to be announced. Representing the South will be Bruehl, College Park; Adam Forrer, College Park; Knight, Orlando; Jimmy Faul, Orlando; Justin Wall, Winter Park; and Michael Danner, Winter Park.
