A transplanted Pennsylvanian crowned Ms. Deltona is vying for more titles: Ms. Florida, and even Ms. America, with the objective of bringing glory, honor and praise to God and Jesus Christ.
Although beauty pageants seem an unlikely venue for spiritual matters, Meme Rose Dearms is dedicating her natural gifts and talents to an eternal calling.
"So many people out there are hurting. They are lost. They don't know where to turn," Dearms told the Deltona City Commission July 15, as she introduced herself and put out the word about the upcoming Ms. Florida Pageant. "I feel like I want to take as many people with me to heaven as I can take. ... It's about loving God and loving your neighbor."
