A duo of air conditioning thieves was nabbed early Friday morning, thanks to an alert neighbor calling the cops, a Sherif's spokesman said.
Deputies responded within minutes and K9 units were able to quickly track down Deltona residents 27-year-old Nestor Ramos and 25-year-old Nicholas Walker, said spokesman Brandon Haught.
Deputies learned while questioning the two that another air conditioner found in their truck had been taken from a home less than a half-mile away, Haught said.
Ramos and Walker were each charged with two counts of grand theft and booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach.
At their first appearances, the judge Ramos was released on his own recognizance pending trial, but the judge set bond at $10,000 for Walker, who remained behind bars late Friday afternoon, according to a booking officer at the jail.
