Buckmaster Law in Daytona Beach is proud to announce their family-law attorney David Ellzey has accepted a commission as a judge advocate officer for the Florida Air National Guard. David Ellzey served in the US Air Force and Florida Air National Guard for 16 years as a weather forecaster prior to becoming a first lieutenant for the 125th Fighter Wing's Staff Judge Advocate Office.
Judge advocates are military officers assigned provide legal counsel to military members and commands in numerous fields of law. In the position as a drill status guardsman, he will be serving as a citizen airman and be subject to activation for national or state emergencies while performing duty one weekend per month and two weeks during the year. He was previously activated for Operation Noble Eagle in 2001 and Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom in 2004.
His local practice at Buckmaster Law is focused primarily on family law, divorce, injunctions and child custody and support.
"I'm really fortunate to have the opportunity to serve my country and state while also being a member of the local community. My Florida Air Guard family has been there for me for a very long time and I'm proud to continue my service as a Judge Advocate," Ellzey said.
"Service in the military is one of the highest callings and we are proud to have veterans at our office," said Jeremy Buckmaster.
