Twins Bill and Frank Jennings have owned and operated several restaurants in Downtown DeLand over the years, including Brickhouse Grill, which is still in operation.
Now, they’ve added another eatery across the street at 145 N. Woodland Blvd. in the historic J.G. Michaelos building. The new dining establishment, called Byte, opened Oct. 30 and specializes in tapas, which are smaller and lighter appetizers, Frank Jennings said.
“We’ve had a good response from the community,” Jennings said about a week after opening. “It’s a matter of getting (the public) ready for this type of restaurant, which is upscale casual.”
