UPDATED MONDAY, DEC. 2 — Scott Mandis of DeLand, who was reported missing Nov. 26, was located safe and sound in Daytona Beach on Dec. 30, the Sheriff's Office reported.
PREVIOUSLY REPORTED — The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in locating a man with a diminished mental capacity who has been missing for a week.
Scott Mandis, 33 (DOB: 1/29/1980), was arrested for trespassing in DeLand and was released from the Volusia County Branch Jail the next day, Nov. 19. Mandis lives at an assisted living facility in DeLand but he didn’t return there after his release from jail. Personnel at the assisted living facility reported Mandis missing to the Sheriff's Office on Friday. Efforts to find Mandis have so far been unsuccessful.
Mandis is 5'8" tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He is prescribed medication but does not have it with him. He may be in the Daytona Beach area. Anyone with information about Mandis's location is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at (386) 943-7866 or call 911 if there is an emergency.
