UPDATED 2:35 P.M. TUESDAY, JAN. 14 — In response to a couple of requests for more information, Sheriff's Office spokesman Brandon Haught said investigators have released no additional information yet. He did say the victim is a white male. The Beacon will report more details as soon as they are available.
PREVIOUSLY REPORTED — The Major Case Unit of the Volusia County Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspicious death in the Northwest Volusia community of Seville.
Deputies were notified at about 11:26 a.m. Jan. 11, that an adult male was found hanged in a wooded area of Seville near the intersection of Lemon Road and Church Street, Sheriff's Office spokesman Brandon Haught said.
An autopsy is scheduled today, Monday, Jan. 13. Investigators are withholding the dead man's identity pending the autopsy and further investigation, Haught said.
There was no further information available this morning, Monday, Jan. 13, Gary Davidson of the Sheriff's Office said.
