Navreet Somai has been named the regional director of clinical and support services for Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler.
In this new role, Somai is responsible for managing the clinical and patient support services of oncology care for the five Florida Hospital facilities within Volusia and Flagler counties. This includes oncology support groups, oncology navigation programs, oncology social work, oncology research program, oncology registry, cancer library, oncology guest liaisons and oncology volunteers. Additionally, Somai oversees the staff, quality metrics, compliance with state and federal regulations, and coordinates services among disciplines.
Somai has been with Florida Hospital for nearly three years and previously served as patient support services manager for Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center’s Comprehensive Cancer Center. In this role, she was responsible for the cancer care navigators, oncology social worker, guest liaisons, clinical research nurses and volunteers.
A Port Orange resident, Somai earned a medical degree from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. Additionally, she is certified in Lean Healthcare and is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt; the Lean courses are designed to teach healthcare professionals how to stabilize, standardize and simplify patient care processes.
Somai is very active in the community. She is a graduate of Ormond Beach Leadership Class IX, Children’s Home Society Advisory Board Member; Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce Committee Member and is active in various American Cancer Society and American Heart Association campaigns.
