DeLand High School’s junior Lady Bulldog wrestler Hope Dargan took third place in the girls’ state wrestling championships. She won the first three rounds of competition before being stopped by a wrestler from Tampa Gaither High School.
This placed her into the wrestle-backs, where Dargan won two more matches by pinning her opponents, to earn third place in the 108 division.
This is her third year making states and the third time coming home with a place. Last year, the then-sophomore won the division state championship.
