On Monday, March 10, the Bulldog Wrestling Club, led by head coach Jason Baker, returns to the mats.
The high-school division of the club will meet 3:30-5 p.m. Mondays and 2:30-4 p.m. on early-release Wednesdays, in the old gym at DeLand High School.
Elementary- and middle-school wrestlers, led by coach Chris Folsom, will meet 6-7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
The Bulldog Wrestling Club, co-sponsored by the DeLand Parks and Recreation Department, is open to boys and girls from fourth grade through high school, and is affiliated with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). Students must have a 2014 AAU card to participate! To apply for your card, go to www.aausports.org.
No experience is necessary! The coaches will train the basics, and move on to higher skill levels as appropriate.
Bulldog Wrestling Club membership costs $25 for the season. Membership gives you twice-weekly supervised practices, coaching at AAU “folk-style” tournaments in the spring, summer and fall, and a team T-shirt. The club will run from March through October, until the high-school varsity season begins.
For more information about the Bulldog Wrestling Club, call head coach Jason Baker at 386-867-1314 or email him at email@example.com.
