WVUSBC hosts Sweetheart Doubles

On Feb. 9, 37 couples competed in the 2014 Sweetheart Doubles, rolled at Sunshine Lanes in DeLand.
Winners of Division A (18-55) tied for first place, with Stacey Harper and Harold Harper, and Amanda Parrish and Jay D’Angiolillo, rolling a total score of 1,707. Third place went to Sarah Brown and Nevelle Kirby with a 1,645, followed in fourth by Renee Marcus and Jerry Stone with a 1,516. Callie Held and Jeremy Rankin rolled into fifth with a close one-pin difference of 1,515.
Division B (56 and up) winners were Sherri Smith and Chip Cauffman with a 1,491. Tina Hill and Dave Cook took second with a 1,394, and Mary Grimes and James Smorto placed third with a 1,342.
This tournament was a nine-pin No Tap. Stacey Harper rolled three 300 games for a 900 set. Harold Harper rolled an 807 series, while others rolling 300 games were Amanda Parrish (853), Jay D’Angiolillo (854), Nevelle Kirby (857), and Callie Held.
Also rolling 300 games were Bill Smolinsky, Sean Thorn, Jerry McWilliams and Rier Ryerson. Sarah Brown added a 299 game.
