Roughly 350 children hopped along to the free Easter Egg Hunt on Thursday, April 17, at Bill Dreggors Park, 230 N. Stone St. in DeLand.
Put on by the DeLand Parks and Recreation Department, Duane’s Sunshine Cleaning, Aaron Pest Control, and DeLand Elks Lodge 1463, the event was a “fantastic” success, according to Chad Rhodes, 39, recreation manager for the DeLand Parks and Recreation Department. “Any time there’s kids smiling, it’s a good day,” he said.
Children, separated by age groups, embarked on egg hunts in several areas around the park. The Easter Bunny also made an appearance, sitting children on his knee for photos.
