Volusia County sheriff’s deputies are investigating whether a fourth robbery in Deltona this month was committed by the same person.
The latest heist came just before 8 p.m. Aug. 12 at a Circle K store on Howland Boulevard, about 2 miles from the earlier three holdups, Volusia County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Gary Davidson said.
“And, just like in at least one of the previous robberies, while the clerk on duty during Tuesday’s holdup didn’t see a weapon, deputies who viewed the surveillance video from inside the store said the suspect was holding a gun,” Davidson said.
The robbery spree began Aug. 3 at a Circle K on Elkcam Boulevard. The suspect struck at the same Circle K Aug. 4 and then hit a liquor store across the street Aug. 5, Davidson said.
The suspect’s description in all four holdups was similar: a possibly Hispanic man between 5 foot 6 inches and 5 foot 9 inches and wearing dark-colored pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, and a mask or bandanna over his face.
In the latest robbery, the suspect got away with an undetermined amount of money, Davidson said.
Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida, toll-free, at 1-888-277-TIPS, Davidson said. Text tips can be sent by texting “TIP231 plus your message” to CRIMES.
Anyone who provides information to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and can qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
