Tom Petty and his music are intertwined with American culture. He wrote and recorded songs that became the soundtrack to millions of people’s lives, becoming a universally revered star in the process. At 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, Free Fallin will honor his memory by returning to perform at the Athens Theatre in DeLand.
Free Fallin has been performing Petty’s music throughout the country for more than 11 years, and along the way they have evolved into a complete and spectacular live-music production.
Their show, featuring all the best hits of Petty, includes the instruments and costumes that re-create the authentic experience of a Tom Petty concert. This band delivers a professional and entertaining experience for any fan.
Free Fallin’s “Broken Hearted Tour” last year played more than 90 shows in 15 states, which included an invitation to play for Tom Petty’s “Birthday Weekend” in October in Petty’s hometown of Gainesville. Twenty-six thousand fans from all over the world gathered to celebrate his legacy, as Free Fallin headlined back-to-back nights.
This year’s “Legacy Tour 2019” is promising to be a respectful continuation of sharing Petty’s music with his fan base around the country. Join us in the celebration of his life and music!
