Are you seeking the perfect fit for your passion toward community service? Rotaract of DeLand may have just what you are looking for in an organization that supports its community.
Rotaract was established Jan. 13 under the national affiliation of Rotary International, with the objective of serving our community and building long-lasting relationships.
The group has already provided service to those in need and is preparing for future opportunities in providing hope.
The current leadership includes Anslee Holland, president; Manny Delgado, vice president; Kendall Murphy, marketing; Wade Hunter, treasurer; Joe Skinner, public relations; and Kellee Smith, Rotaract adviser.
“We are in the works of starting a supply drive for toiletry items for a local organization in need of supplies,” said Delgado, a founding member.
This is just one of many examples of the organization’s efforts to fill a gap. They most recently participated in assisting with the Spring Hill Garden.
Rotaract is currently seeking ambitious new members and is open to any young professionals ages 18-30; however, if an individual is older than age 30 and would like to join and serve the community, that person will not be turned away.
“Rotaract members decide how to organize and run their clubs, manage their own funds, and plan and carry out activities and service projects. Rotary Club sponsors offer guidance and support and work with your club as partners in service,” as stated on the Rotary International website.
If your organization is in need of volunteers for any service events, the Rotaracts will do their best to assist with any cause in DeLand.
