Victor Ostepenko, a mason in coordination with Ken Goldberg Construction LLC, repaired the roof of Athens Theatre earlier today.
Photos of the repair, along with the finished product, can be seen above.
The damage was caused on July 17 when lightning struck the building, blowing bricks off the top corner on the back side of the building.
At the time, Athens marketing director Alexa A. Baldwin said that the strike caused the bricks to shoot out like a cannon.
No one was hurt during the incident, but the power surge did knock out some ports in the theater’s soundboard, in addition to scorching a hole through a fairly new membrane roof.
