A suspicious package was delivered to University High School in Orange City Friday morning, causing the school to go on lockdown while law enforcement investigated.
“We had a suspicious package delivered to the front main office at University High. Law enforcement investigated, and found it to be nothing concerning,” said Volusia County Schools spokeswoman Kelly Schulz. “The school was in a lockdown as a precautionary measure.”
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad was on the scene at the school to investigate the package.
The lockdown was lifted around 11 a.m., and classes resumed as normal, Schulz said.
