Firefighters’ Memorial Park in Deltona has some new playground equipment for children who, because of disabilities, may otherwise not be able to frolic with friends.
The renovated playground features a tower with tube slides, special swings and a swing track similar to a zip line. The playground also has a special rubber surface that is safer than the ground.
The park and playground at 1426 E. Lombardy Drive was dedicated Sept. 26. The dedication had originally been set for Aug. 29, but was postponed because of the uncertain course of Hurricane Dorian.
