Firefighters from DeLand, Deltona and Orange City — which also provides fire protection and medical-rescue services for DeBary — took part in two days of practicing and honing their skills and abilities in taking apart vehicles to reach and remove victims of accidents.

For the past several years, McMillon has provided junk cars at no cost for the firefighters to use in training. Sabia said McMillon “donated 25 to 30 cars just for this week alone.”

McMillon said he is pleased to aid the first responders, noting, “It could be me in an accident, and they’ll come and rescue me.”
