[responsive-slider id=3336]

In celebration of the 2019 holiday season, Phantasmagoria is proud to be returning to the Athens Theatre in DeLand and presenting their portrayal of what is perhaps the most well-known and dearly loved ghost story of all time, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, a Ghost Story of Christmas.

Phantasmagoria will swoop onto DeLand’s historic stage Wednesday, Dec. 18, directly following another successful tour of sold-out performances in Orlando, Atlanta, Baltimore, Ocala, DeLand and Eustis.

This critically acclaimed Victorian performance troupe, which Good Day Atlanta called “one of the most unique theater troupes in the country,” has found a way to make their spooky-niche-genre mesh perfectly with the warmth of the holidays.Their signature tapestry of movement, dance, puppetry, projections, music and storytelling brings this famous ghost story to life in a way you have never seen before!

When A Christmas Carol was first published in 1843, it immediately became a Christmas classic, and today (176 years later) it remains a tradition for many people — truly one of the most-beloved ghost stories of the past few centuries — and now Phantasmagoria is giving Central Florida a whole new way to enjoy this immortal story. The past two years’ performances sold fast, so get your tickets now!

Join in the fun, and experience this timeless tale of past, present and future with Phantasmagoria’s stylized adaptation of the classic work A Christmas Carol, a Ghost Story of Christmas.

This unique performance is one night only, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the historic Athens Theatre, 124 N. Florida Ave. in Downtown DeLand.

All seating is reserved, and tickets are priced at $25 for preferred reserved seating (first five rows center orchestra and first two rows center balcony) and $20 for all other seating. A $3-per-ticket processing charge and 6.5-percent sales tax will be added to each purchase.
