“How can you mend a broken heart?” Break the “Night Fever” and come to the Athens Theatre in DeLand to see one of two performances Wednesday, Feb. 5, because “You Should Be Dancing” with the Florida Bee Gees!
“Whether you’re a brother or whether you’re a mother,” this show will have you feeling like you are watching a Brothers Gibb performance. So come and experience an incredible technical, theatrical production that will touch your senses and have you feeling like a “Boogie Child.”
The Bee Gees, who are known for their tight three-part high harmonies and disco anthems, wrote more than 1,000 songs, sold more than 220 million records worldwide, won 12 Grammy Awards, and have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
As brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb pumped out hit after hit, people across the globe turned up the volume. With seven No. 1 songs and more than a dozen Billboard sensations they wrote for other artists, it is no wonder that their music helped define a generation.
The Florida Bee Gees re-create these harmonies that became the soundtrack to the ’70s, so come enjoy hit songs that include “How Deep Is Your Love,” “Jive Talkin’,” “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart,” “Night Fever,” “You Should Be Dancing,” “Too Much Heaven,” “I Started a Joke,” “I’ve Gotta Get a Message to You” and “Stayin’ Alive.”
When the Florida Bee Gees perform at the Athens Theatre at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, you are sure to hear all these memorable hits and more, as the music and style of one of the most successful acts in musical history are showcased.
Ticket prices are $35 for preferred reserved seating (first five rows center orchestra and first two rows balcony), and $30 for general reserved seating. A $3-per-ticket processing charge and 6.5-percent sales tax will be added to each purchase.
