Carmen Sanchez was one resident who took advantage of the drive-thru event, seen here with her charismatic pup.
Volusia County Animal Services held a drive-thru free dog and cat food and microchipping event Aug. 9 to lend a helping hand to pet owners during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lines of cars formed up to gather the free supplies and hand their somewhat startled pets to animal services volunteers, who whisked them away for a quick microchip insertion before returning them to their owners.
The microchips act as quick identification for any lost pets, and are linked to the owners name, address, and contact information.
