An avid hunter, Green had operated an exotic-animals farm in New Hampshire for several years before opening the larger operation in Vermont. To keep people coming back, Dane said, her father hired an Ohio couple who trained animals for circus acts. The woman, Mrs. Ray, taught Queenie some commands and set the stage for Liz’ performing days with her elephant companion.</p></p><p></p>
