A gamer’s paradise, BSP Games was opened in October 2017 as a friendly, inviting and fun place for families, kids, and the community to come out and play games.

“We just wanted to build a space for the community,” said Operations Manager Christopher Logan. “A place where they can come and play the games that they love.”

Standing for “Buy, Sell and Play Games,” BSP recently moved to a new location near the DeLand post office, “It’s really exciting because this space is a lot bigger than our last,” said Christopher. “That means that we can run bigger events and hold even more people.”

Hosting events almost every day, BSP Games hosts daily tournaments where people come in with their decks, play against their peers, and win prizes. “We host tournaments for Magic, Dungeons & Dragons, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Digimon, and more,” said Christopher. “These events allow our customers to interact with other people who enjoy the game in the community, and they can also win some cool products and money.”

They also host bigger events every three months when a game is about to release a new set. These prerelease tournaments cost $35 to enter, with all the money going back into the pot for the winner.

Outside of their tournaments, BSP also allows their customers to just come in and play. “You can always come in with some friends and just play,” said Christopher. “We don’t charge admission for that.”

In addition to their events, BSP sells cards like Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh!, board games such as Settlers of Catan, and tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer.

They also buy games that customers are looking to sell. “Sometimes people want to sell us some of their cards or their entire collection,” said Christopher. “Maybe they’re getting out of the game, or just want to make some money, so they’ll come here and sell us their cards that we will then resell to the community.”

BSP Games sells all of their items on their website, where they offer daily, weekly and monthly deals for discounts. They are also currently running a sale where if you use the code “Shop10,” you get 10 percent off your online order.

BSP Games plans on having a grand reopening for their new location on Aug. 28. “We’ll run some tournaments and give away some extra prizes during the reopening,” said Christopher. “There will also be food and some sales going on.”

BSP Games is located at 342B E. New York Ave. in DeLand. Hours are 2–9 p.m. Monday thru Friday, and 10:30 a.m.–9 p.m. Saturday.
