FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL IMAGE

A 32-year-old Volusia County Sheriff’s Office motorcycle deputy was injured in a crash in Deltona Oct. 27, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. 

According to the crash report, a 92-year-old man driving a sedan turned left into the path of the deputy’s motorcycle at the intersection of Saxon Boulevard and Merrimac Lane around 7:20 a.m. Both drivers had a solid green light. 

The deputy was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, but the Florida Highway Patrol did not specify where exactly the deputy was taken for medical treatment.

The driver of the sedan was ticketed for violating the right of way.
