THE BEES’ KNEES — And the bees’ hive, a beekeeper and everything else. The Harris family — Kelly, Terry, 1-year-old Hunter and family dogs Lily the pit bull, as a bee, and Tuffe the chocolate Pomeranian as a honey-loving bear, arrive at Monsters on MainStreet in Downtown DeLand Oct. 31. Theirs were among the most elaborate family-themed costumes among thousands who thronged the Boulevard. Kelly Hunter said the family allowed Hunter to choose her costume, then built the family theme around her choice. Her beehive is constructed from burlap-wrapped swimming-pool noodles.
