Ho ho ho, get ready for the Big Band show!

The Orlando Big Band swings into the Athens Theatre in DeLand on Tuesday, Dec. 21, for two hoppin’ holiday concerts.

All accomplished performers in the concert and jazz genres, The Orlando Big Band is back at the beautiful Athens Theatre to perform holiday favorites. Join the band, along with Bing, Rosemary, Cab, Glenn, Artie and Benny, for some of the greatest holiday hits of all time. These songs will bring the holidays to life with classic selections from the 1930-’60s. Don’t miss this great tribute.

Sing along with Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas.” Or maybe you’re partial to “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” (Spoiler alert: He gives it back again!).

The Andrews Sisters might even drop by with “Jingle Bells.” There will be a “Sleigh Ride,” of course, and buglers will fill the air. You’ll get a chance to ask “Santa Baby” for a few small things, and rings. Bring the whole family and sing along!

From retired military musicians with more than 25 years’ training, instructors from many colleges and schools, to professionals mastering their craft through music, the musicians in The Orlando Big Band have the talent to create magic.

The Orlando Big Band’s founder and director Bennett Harmon’s passion for music is evident in all the extra little steps he has taken to perfect the band’s performances. Harmon re-created as much as possible of the original inflections and dynamics, and each tune takes on a life of its own.

The Orlando Big Band will perform at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the Athens Theatre, at 124 N. Florida Ave. in Downtown DeLand.

Tickets cost $35 for preferred reserved seating (first six rows orchestra and two rows center balcony); $30 for adults; $25 for senior citizens and veterans; $11 for children. A $3-per-ticket processing charge and 6.5-percent sales tax will be added to each purchase.

All tickets will be available online at the Athens Theatre website at www.AthensDeLand.com or by calling the box office at 386-736-1500.

Box-office hours are 1-5 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, and 1 1/2 hours before live performances.
