PHOTO COURTESY ADVENTHEALTH FIRST BABY — With a basket of gifts celebrating his arrival as AdventHealth’s first baby of the year in West Volusia, Isaiah Elias Ramirez and his mother, Cristal Dominguez, celebrate his arrival at 6:50 p.m. on Jan. 1.

He wasn’t in any hurry, but nevertheless Isaiah Elias Ramirez claimed first-baby-of-the-year honors when he arrived nearly 19 hours after the fireworks, at 6:50 p.m. Jan. 1 at AdventHealth Fish Memorial in Orange City.

Isaiah weighed in at 6 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 19 inches long, the hospital said.

Isaiah is the son of Cristal Dominguez of Crescent City. Mom and son are doing well, the hospital said.

It’s unknown whether home births or births at other hospitals or birth centers might have occurred earlier, but Isaiah got a basket of gifts in recognition of his arrival as the first baby born in the AdventHealth system in West Volusia.

Congratulations!
