Editor, The Beacon:
I am so grateful to Wendy Anderson for her recent column, headlined “Parades show us what we value” in The Beacon, in which she questions the presence of the huge contingent of anonymous all-terrain-vehicle drivers.
These weren’t the backyard variety of ATVs. These were monstrous and scary-looking.
My family and I had been enjoying the parade up to that point. I kept waiting for them to end so we could see the rest of the parade, but after a quarter of an hour, we escaped from the unbearable noise and fumes, disgusted.
If they represent the parade organizers’ vision of Christmas, then I say, “Bah, humbug!”
