For one night only, Wednesday, Feb. 2, DeLand’s Athens Theatre will present “Carpenters Once More” at 7:30 p.m. Come celebrate one unforgettable voice and one unforgettable duo featuring vocalist Diana Lynn re-creating the sounds of Karen Carpenter.

Spanning from the birth of this dynamic American brother-and-sister musical duo to the last of their public performances, this heartwarming show highlights hits like “Yesterday Once More,” “Close to You,” “For All We Know,” “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “Please Mr. Postman,” “Ticket to Ride,” and many more!

Award-winning vocalist Diana Lynn has been entertaining audiences since she was just 3 years old. Singing with her brother at a young age (just like Karen and Richard Carpenter), Diana and her brother quickly became known as the Donny and Marie of Christian music, traveling all around the United States.

Diana Lynn took a hiatus from entertaining until eventually she followed her life’s dream and moved to Branson, Missouri, nearly 15 years ago. She has performed regularly as the lead female vocal in “A Neil Diamond Tribute,” and co-starred in the award-nominated hit show “Duets,” traveling across the country.

No one captures the haunting tones of Karen Carpenter like Diana Lynn, as she delivers the poignant story of the sensitive, talented woman’s life and career through spot on vocals, multimedia, audience interaction, quick-change artistry, and all your favorite Carpenter tunes.

The Athens Theatre is at 124 N. Florida Ave. in Downtown DeLand.

Tickets cost $35 for preferred reserved seating (first five rows center orchestra and two rows center balcony), and $30 for general reserved seating. A $3-per-ticket processing charge and 6.5-percent sales tax will be added to each purchase.

Tickets will be available online at the Athens Theatre website (www.AthensDeLand.com) or by calling the box office at 386-736-1500. Box-office hours are 1-5 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, and 1 1/2 hours before live performances.
