Dental practice donates big to water provider in Africa

An Orange City dental practice has donated tens of thousands of dollars to Neverthirst, an organization that brings clean and safe water to those areas of the world that otherwise would not have access to it.

Cape Vista Dental, at 942 Saxon Blvd., donates 60 percent of its profits to this organization and other worthwhile local charities, said Andrew Yoon, D.M.D., in a news release.

In October 2018, for instance, Cape Vista Dental sent Neverthirst a check in the amount of $63,200.

The staff also remain very active locally in an orphanage and pregnancy crisis center in Deltona. They operated a Christian mission center in Honduras for 15 years, providing comprehensive dental care to those who were less fortunate in third-world countries. They continue to support and assist other charities.

Dr. Yoon, owner of Cape Vista Dental, explained the overall giving philosophy of the office.

“When you visit our office, you’re not just getting the best possible dental experience with our love, care, and laughter,” he said in the release. “You are helping change the world by helping others that can’t help themselves. Every time you take care of your health, it helps to save a life.”

The staff at Cape Vista know that most people dread going to the dentist. That’s why they’ve made their office an environment that is more conducive to relaxation and fun, according to the news release.

The No. 1 goal for all the staff is to put every patient at ease. The staff works together more like a family than as co-workers. They even come to work dressed in costumes occasionally to change things up a bit.

But Cape Vista Dental knows how to take care of teeth as well as patients. The practice offers “surgical suites” as one way of making the patient more comfortable during procedures that take longer and are more intense. These suites are more spacious, and all equipment is digital, making it seem more like a spa than a traditional dental room.
